Description

I observed this object on 27 September 2016 at the Okie-Tex Star Party using a 12” Skywatcher Dobsonian: This globular cluster is a dim patch that I could just see using averted vision.

I obtained the calibrated lights frames used to create the final image from Telescope Live. The frames were imaged by the CHI-1-CMOS Telescope at the El Sauce Observatory in Chile.

Shapley Sawyer Classification: Not classified.
Distance: 17,289 LY
Type: Hub Globular
Position w.r.t. core of galaxy: In the Milky Way hub on the sun-side edge.
Any stars resolved: No
Undergoing Core Collapse: No
